Aviation industry
Embarking on a journey in the aviation industry requires not only skill and expertise but also ensuring one’s health and fitness to take flight. At Health Control Services (HCS), we understand the critical role that medical examinations play in maintaining a safe and secure aviation environment.
Whether it’s a pilot in Suriname or an airman under the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States, meeting specific medical standards is a vital part of the aviation journey. CASAS and FAA have laid down rigorous medical requirements, and HCS stands ready to assist in meeting these standards.
Medical certification for aviation personnel in Suriname, including pilots and air traffic controllers, is governed by the national Civil Aviation Safety Authority Suriname CASAS. These regulations require that medical fitness assessments are conducted under the responsibility of a designated aviation medical examiner.
At Health Control Services, the required medical tests and supporting examinations are performed by our medical team at our facilities. The assessment and issuance of the medical certificate are carried out by the designated aviation medical examiner, in line with Surinamese aviation requirements.
Under United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, airmen are required to hold a valid medical certificate which can only be issued following an examination conducted by an FAA-designated Aviation Medical Examiner (AME).
At Health Control Services, the required medical tests and examinations are supported by our medical team and conducted at our facilities. The FAA medical examination isperformed exclusively by the FAA-designated AME in Suriname. If the applicant meets the applicable FAA medical standards, the medical certificate is issued in full compliance with US aviation regulations.
